Privacy
Last updated: May 16, 2026. GigConverter is a hosted web app built so your .gig files do not upload to our servers. Conversion runs in your browser and output files are generated there.
Files you convert
Your .gig file, extracted WAV or AIFF files, generated SFZ, README, and conversion log are processed locally in your browser. We do not receive, store, inspect, or back up those files unless you choose to send a log or sample to support.
Account and payment data
For Pro licenses, we store your checkout email, license key, Stripe customer/session IDs, license status, and hashed machine fingerprints for activation limits. Stripe separately processes payment data; we do not store full card numbers.
Local browser storage
The app may store license status, activation state, free-conversion counters, and basic preferences in your browser's local storage. Clearing browser data may remove those local settings, but it does not cancel a paid license.
Server logs and processors
Our hosting provider may collect ordinary request logs such as IP address, user agent, route, timestamp, and error diagnostics. We use Vercel for hosting, Stripe for payments, and Resend for transactional email. We do not add third-party advertising trackers in v1.
Support and recovery
If you email support, recover a key, or request a refund, we use the information you provide to handle that request. Key recovery responses are intentionally generic to avoid exposing whether an email address is a customer.
Retention
We keep license and payment records as long as needed to operate the product, recover keys, prevent abuse, process refunds, and meet legal or tax obligations. Support emails may be kept for a reasonable period to resolve follow-up issues.
