Terms

Last updated: May 16, 2026. GigConverter is a hosted browser utility for converting legacy GigaStudio / GigaSampler files into WAV and SFZ packages. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

Authorized files only

You may use GigConverter only with files that you own or are otherwise authorized to use and convert. GigConverter does not grant rights in any third-party samples, performances, loops, instrument programs, brands, or host applications.

No redistribution rights

Converted WAV, AIFF, SFZ, log, or package files remain subject to the original library's license. Do not sell, share, publish, or redistribute converted sample content unless the applicable license allows it.

No DRM circumvention

You may not use GigConverter to crack DRM, bypass encryption, defeat access controls, or unlock a library you are not authorized to use. The converter is designed to fail rather than bypass copy protection.

License purchase

A Pro purchase grants one individual a license to use GigConverter on up to 2 machines. The license is not transferable, resellable, sublicensable, or a grant of rights to any third-party sample library.

Conversion limits

The app attempts to extract recoverable PCM sample data and generate a practical SFZ mapping. Some encrypted, corrupted, compressed, incomplete, or vendor-specific .gig files may not convert. We do not promise perfect instrument recreation or native Cubase, Kontakt, HALion, or other proprietary preset output.

Trademarks and no affiliation

Cubase, HALion, Steinberg, Tascam, GigaStudio, GigaSampler, Kontakt, Sforzando, Decent Sampler, and other names may be trademarks of their respective owners. We use those names descriptively to explain file formats and compatibility targets. GigConverter is independent and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with those owners.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Refund requests are handled under the refund policy posted at /legal/refunds.

No warranty

GigConverter is provided as-is. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not responsible for lost files, lost projects, business interruption, or misuse of converted content. Always keep your original library files backed up.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
